I create through hairstyling because I believe that everyone deserves to love who they see in the mirror. But my passion started long before Hair & Henna. Growing up, I was the “head hairstylist in charge,” helping my mom, sisters, and grandmother grow and maintain healthy hair that made them look good and feel better. By the time I was in 7th grade, I had clientele ranging from classmates to church members. I remember running home from school to design braids and style hair. I’ll never forget the look on their face when I finished, it was one of fearlessness… like they were ready to take on the world. 

 

Since starting my own natural hair journey in 2004 and Goddess loc journey in 2017, I’ve become all too familiar with the struggles of maintaining natural hair. I’ve wasted money on overpriced, inefficient products. I’ve been frustrated at undependable, overbooked stylists. I’ve felt the pain of having family and friends ask “what’s wrong with your hair?” It killed my confidence. 

 

So, I got to work. I tested products to find the BEST methods for growing and maintaining all types of natural hair. I created a low-maintenance hair care system, and even developed my own loc technique that I’ve used on over 100 clients. 

 

I created Henna & Hair because I believe it’s our birthright to express ourselves. I pride myself on educating, empowering, and affirming my clients from the inside out. You already have what it takes, let me help you get back to you…only better.
